Fisker automotive stop Karma electric sports sedan
Unfavorable situation being experienced by Fisker Automotive, after having to stop production variant Karma electric sports sedan.
Problems experienced by Fisker Automotive comes after Karma’s battery supply company was declared bankrupt and can no longer supply the battery. Fisker Karma main power source is the battery, instead of fuel oil.
As quoted from Inautonews, Fisker Automotive is now very difficult situation. Battery supplier A123 Systems Company, can no longer meet the needs of the battery supply, due to financial trouble.
Fisker CEO Tony Posawatz said production Karma will be delayed for a while due to Fisker currently has no battery suppliers from other companies. Fisker will wait A123 Systems asset auction to be conducted early next year.
Fisker Karma battery 20 kW lithium-ion battery as a power source two electric motors. Battery and two electric motor is capable of producing a total output of 402 horsepower and peak torque of 1300 Nm (959 lb-ft).
Electric sedan is able to record acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, before penetrating a top speed of 200 km / h (124 mph). 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, serves as a generator when the battery is empty.
Fisker Karma able to walk as far as 83 km (52 miles), using only electric power. With the help of a conventional engine, the Fisker Karma is able to penetrate within 483 km (300 miles), with an average fuel consumption 2.5 liter/100km.
