Porsche and Michelin developing tires specifically for Carrera GT

Porsche car manufacturer and tire manufacturer Michelin collaborate in developing tires specifically for the Carrera GT supercar. This development is intended to improve the performance of the Porsche Carrera GT are increasingly in demand.

After read from Worldcarfans, new tires are labeled Michelin Pilot Super Sport will replace the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires currently adopted Porsche Carrera GT.

Porsche claims the front tire size 265/35 ZR19 and 335/30 ZR 20 at the rear are able to make the handling and stability of the Carrera GT for the better. In addition the rear wing was adopted to maximize the aerodynamic balance when driven at high speed. Under body cars have used carbon fiber to reduce weight as well as a protective roof to support the safety aspect.

Interestingly, this latest tire is claimed to reduce the consumption of fuel by 10 percent when driving on ordinary roads even when driven on the track racing fuel efficiency reaches 20 percent.

The new Michelin tires ability did not stop there, Porsche reported only one component of a car in direct contact with the road surface has a better grip so braking performance is enhanced.
